Baby formulas that include cow’s milk negatively affect the babies’ health by causing an overgrowth of bacteria and can even lead to NEC.
Various studies showed that there is a connection between the use of cow’s milk based baby formulas and bacterial overgrowth and inflammation of babies intestines. Mead Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, and many other companies continued to market their products as safe. The companies claimed that these baby formulas are beneficial for the health of the babies.
Due to this marketing, the new parents were misguided. There were no warnings put on the label informing them of the potential risks of feeding their babies baby formulas that contain cow’s milk. The companies are now stuck in NEC baby formula lawsuits.
